SPRING LEAF & BRUSH CLEANUP PROGRAM
Starting Date: MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2012
Starting in Laurel and ending at Orient Point
CLEANUP GUIDELINES
All branches must be cut not to exceed a length of 7 feet. If not, these branch piles will be bypassed.
All branches are to be placed in a neat and orderly pile for easy removal by highway crews. NO stumps, trees or land clearing debris will be removed.
All leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags. Leaves in plastic bags, as well as loose leaves, will be bypassed.
The Southold Town Compost Facility will be accepting FREE residential yard waste from Saturday, March 31, 2012 through Sunday, May 27, 2012. Anyone participating in this program must have a valid 2012 Southold Town Disposal Permit.
RESIDENTS: Be certain you are prepared on Monday, April 9th! Once the highway crews have completed a street, they will not return. Anyone who places debris on a street after it has been completed will be subjected to a fine for illegal dumping.
ATTENTION: COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPING COMPANIES
Commercial landscaping and tree removal companies are no longer permitted to dump loads of branches or yard waste debris in the Town right-of-way for removal. It will be the responsibility of the homeowner to make certain that their contractor hauls the debris to the Cutchogue Compost Facility. Anyone who is caught dumping in the Town right-of-way will be fined for illegal dumping.
RESIDENTS
Starting April 9, 2012, make certain that you are prepared for the town-wide cleanup. Should you have any questions pertaining to our Spring Cleanup, you may call the Southold Town Highway Department at (631)765-3140 Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
