Passports

The Southold Town Clerk’s Office is an acceptance agent for the New York Passport Agency.  The application and supporting documentation submitted by the applicant are checked for completeness.  Once it is determined that all is in order, the fees are collected, and the oath is given to applicant prior to their signing application.  The application is then transmitted to the Passport Agency for review and issuance.  

Passport Applications are accepted at the Southold Town Clerk’s Office on Wednesdays only between the hours of 9:00AM - 12:00 and 2:00-3:00 PM. 

Fees are collected separately for the Passport Agency and the acceptance agency (Southold Town Clerk’s  Office).  The Passport Agency must be paid in the form of a check only. The acceptance agent  (Southold Town Clerk’s Office) may be paid by a separate check or cash.  

It is the applicant’s responsibility to secure the application, completely read all instructions and fully complete the application and procure all necessary documentation before submitting it to the acceptance agency with the correct fees.
