November 7, 2008 The of Southold is pleased to announce that the Town received another LWRP EPF grant to “Developing Priority Impaired Waterbody and SGA Subwatershed Management Plans for Town/Jockey, Goose, and Richmond Creek Complexes”.
This grant was prepared jointly with Laura Stephenson of the Peconic Estuary Program spearheading the effort. The award is for $55,000,00. A complete description of the grant follows:
Town of Southold: Developing Priority Imparied Waterbody and SGA Subwatershed Management Plans - To advance implementation of the Peconic Estuary Program's 2006 Subwatershed Management Plans, the Town of Southold will develop watershed management plans for the Town/Jockey, Goose, and Richmond Creek complexes that address water quality impairments, closed shellfishing waters and point and non-point pollution. Work will include watershed assessment, identification and cost benefit analysis of alternative management strategies, and preparation of recommendations. $55,000.00. |
